Ballpark Rates
Initial mold assessments in the San Francisco Bay Area start at $300 for an initial assessment for consultation only on an average size house without a crawlspace within an hours drive from Lafayette, CA. If mold samples are taken, lab fees usually range between $80-$160 per sample, depending on when results are required. Results today can run more than $250 each. Larger houses, crawlspaces, and extended travel are extra.
In general, figure one sample per 1000 sqft, plus one for the outdoor air sample. Additional samples may be required, depending on the geometry of the house or if there are active water leaks. Every effort is made to limit the number of samples required for mold remediation efforts or to answer your concern.
